Coronavirus Crisis Response March 14,2020

In a time of crisis, people need the church and its message of hope more than ever. We understand the need for prayer and Christ during this time. People are to deliver a message of hope as fear grows surrounding the Coronavirus crisis.
We also understand the increased impact for the risk associated with the Coronavirus. Currently, the greatest response to the crisis is to prevent the spread of the virus. Our response is not from a position of fear, but one of care and concern for people. Many have indicated they will be attending church Sunday, yet there are some who are choosing to stay home because they are part of the high-risk group. We respect such a decision and encourage those who stay home to join us online. You can watch us online at:
If you are able to come, we wanted to update you on what Chicopee Baptist is doing to ensure your safety:
  • For the time being, greet each other with smiles and waves.
  • Staff, volunteers, and attendees are asked to follow hand-washing procedures.
  • Hand sanitizer is located at both entrances clearly marked by signs.
  • Custodial staff clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • If you’ve been exposed to the Coronavirus, the flu, or have recently traveled to a CDC Level 2 or 3 country (China, Iran, Italy, South Korea, Hong Kong, or Japan), we’re asking you to take two Sundays off. If you or your family members are experiencing or have recently experienced symptoms associated with the flu or the common cold (fever, persistent cough, headache, chills, or unexplained rash), we ask that you take two Sundays off as well. Please be fever free for 48 hours before returning to church.
  • At this time home visits have been suspended, but we are available for conversations and prayer via phone and email.
Here is how our schedule and events have been affected:
  • The upcoming Movie Night has been postponed to a later date (To Be Determined).
  • The Easter Egg Hunt for 2020 has been canceled
  • All Wednesday night activities have been suspended until further notice.
  • We will not be running the van until further notice.
  • Sunday School has been suspended until the crisis passes.
  • We will currently continue having Sunday Morning Worship service at 11:00 am.

We appreciate your patience, understanding and prayers during this time as our nation faces something we have not experienced in 102 years. We believe this crisis is only temporary and Christ is the hope we all need. Remember the words of Christ in John as He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
We will get through this together and God is not taken back by this virus. His plan for the redemption of the world has not been upended but moving forward. The Lord is our strength and a very present help in time of trouble!
Praying for you all.
Serving Christ By Serving You,
